Buying
Assistant Buyer, Furniture and Lighting
Hybrid/LA
Lulu and Georgia is looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our growing team. The Assistant Buyer is responsible, in partnership with the Buyer, for developing and driving business strategies that meet or exceed the department’s financial and brand equity goals. The Assistant Buyer will provide information and ideas to develop assortments, key items, promotional strategies and growth opportunities. The Assistant Buyer communicates with vendors and agents and serves as the key department contact. This role will help join in the company mission to create a brave and inclusive community where diversity and inclusivity are woven into the fabric of the organization, both internally and externally. Responsibilities:
- Helps build seasonal assortment plans and manages updates throughout the season
- Provides cross-functional partners with final assortment plans (line lists), product details, target retails, estimated IMU, importance to overall assortment (big bets) and provides updates to cross-functional documents
- Owns SKU item set-up from Netsuite to Shopify in partnership with Merchandise department
- Owns item maintenance such as SKU changes, description updates, pricing updates etc
- Assists with managing vendor relationships and communication
- Execute vendor discounts for promotions
- Coordinate with vendor compliance and operations teams to ensure EDI orders transmit correctly
- Liaison between cross-functional departments as it relates to product inquiries across all communication platforms (Slack, Email, G-suite). Resolves and escalates difficult issues to the Buyer
- Gains an understanding of forecasting and participates in financial review meetings
- Provides a weekly recap on sales & margin performance and participates in weekly business meetings and quarterly hindsight meetings
- Performs market analysis, competitive shops, Identifies emerging trends and develops business strategies outlining strengths, weaknesses, new opportunities, and threats. Communicates annual and seasonal strategies to cross functional areas
- Participates in the process of seasonal launches, including product information, web & catalog proofing, merchandising line lists, and other collateral
- Offers input on the product assortment strategy and participates in weekly product development meetings
- Owns sample management - place photoshoot orders and provide tracking to creative; follow all the way through to proactively ensure the items arrive for the shoot
- Owns swatch management for applicable areas
- Enters and tracks purchases orders for all domestic product and swatch orders, ensuring on time vendor shipping communicating any delays to cross-functional teams
Requirements:
- 1-year experience in merchandising/buying or relevant work experience
- Some experience working with both domestic and/or offshore suppliers and sources
- Strong organizational and prioritizing abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills including influencing and negotiation skills
- High degree of flexibility and initiative
- Must be a self-starter, collaborative, and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite (Excel, Word & PowerPoint). Required to create pivot tables and experience with advanced formulas such as VLOOKUPS
- Intermediate retail math knowledge with a strong financial acumen

Lulu and Georgia is looking for an driven NetSuite Developer who can combine technical knowledge with business logic to implement solutions to help optimize our ecosystem and support our growth. You will be responsible for understanding our NetSuite architecture to standardize processes, create new workflows / configurations, and support ongoing business needs through third-party integrations, customizations, and implement new features as Lulu and Georgia scales. This role will report to the Sr. Director, Digital Product.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, debug, update NetSuite Scripts and custom Celigo Flow
- Build new Scripts and NetSuite functionality based on business requirements
- Build custom features and drive them from script development to script deployment
- Analyze business initiatives and provide technical estimates
- Exercise best practices in performing code reviews, quality assurance on scripts before deployment
- Assist end users with custom NetSuite and Celigo flows
- Partner with other technology team members to fix or deliver integrations
- Create and maintain functional / technical design specifications and documentation for NetSuite functionality, customizations, and third-party integrations
- Develop, document, and implement policies and procedures and requirements to ensure data integrity, change protocols, customizations, usage, etc
Requirements:

- Review and analyze business requirements, scope requirements into development tasks in collaboration with NetSuite Admins

- Own 3rd party integrations with NetSuite. Maintain strict control over API tokens and communications with external services

Lulu & Georgia is looking for an organized, detail oriented and hard-working Merchandise Planner to join our team! You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where multitasking and problem solving are key. This position requires great attention to detail and excellent organization.
The Merchandise Planner is responsible for creation and maintenance of weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual merchandise and forecast plans. This position holds full responsibility for continually analyzing business results and producing merchandise forecast plans to capture upside potential and conversely minimize downside sales risk. Responsible for creation and development of business strategies to maximize sales profitability. This role reports to the Divisional Merchandise Planning Manager and will partner with the Buying and Product Development Teams in driving sales, optimizing inventory, and generating profit.
Responsibilities:
- Create preseason sales, margin and inventory plans by category, sub-category, style, or color. Analyze previous quarter results; identify “missed sales” and growth drivers over prior year
- Summarize the opportunity and risk of a product plan as it relates to trend and financial metrics: initial mark-up, average unit retail, average unit cost, net margin dollars/rate
- Recommend style count, cc count and flow of goods for optimal margin results within a half
- Collaborate with Planning Manager to develop & present the financial strategy associated with growth and diminish categories to cross-functional team in quarterly investment review meetings based on current trend, historical findings, or related categories
- Communicate support for style level buys as it relates to current trend, historical findings, or related categories
- Provide daily and weekly updates on business as it relates to last forecast, identifying trends, and highlighting selling that exceeds or falls short of expectation
- Initiate conversations with cross functional partners regarding potential risk or opportunities
- Prepare sales, margin and inventory forecast for monthly OTB forecast meetings for current year; provide sales trend opportunity for future quarters, validate stock-to-sales relationships, maximize receipt flow to improve turn, reconcile receipts and suggest pricing strategies to drive profitability
- Monitor basic style selling trends and partner with Assistant Planner to select monthly order quantities
- Partner with Buyer to propose markdown and promotional strategies to maximize profitability on the life of an item or category; provide pricing and margin dollar gain/loss scenarios
- Direct Reports: Assistant Merchandise Planner for assigned categories
- Provides coaching, direction, develops and empowers direct reports
Requirements:
- Four-year college degree or equivalent
- 4+ years in merchandise planning or buying; experience in both e-commerce and brick & mortar is a bonus
- Strong financial, analytical, and project management skills
- Track record of innovation; experience building and optimizing reporting and processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; ability to adopt new systems and tools quickly (experience with an ERP)
- Self-starter, highly entrepreneurial, and extremely detail-oriented, with focus on accuracy and data integrity
